Technical translator
A technical translator is primarily a terminologist who has perfect mastery of his working languages, particularly the language into which he translates (his native language or one in which he did all his studies). He must be able to conduct thorough terminology research on any topic and in any area.
He knows where to look and how to direct his research to remain completely faithful to the source text. He is a specialist in technical translation and is both rigorous, meticulous and very adaptable. Technical translators are highly sought after because they are the ones who translate the vast majority of applications in the translation market. They translate activity reports, user guides for all kinds of devices or software, smartphone applications, business reports, marketing presentations, contracts of all kinds, official documents, internet websites, sales catalogs, course materials, pharmaceutical instructions, the results of research in a variety of areas, news or blog articles. There are no limits in areas of potential intervention. |
